    ´╗┐Mountaineers struggle in home loss to NEO WILBURTON Eastern nike cortez Oklahoma State will look to recover during its bye week. After suffering injuries to most of their big men during a challenging season, the Mountaineers struggled to maintain a high intensity level on Monday during a 78 61 home loss to Northeastern Oklahoma A at Dunlap Field House in Wilburton. "I think it's fatigue and frustration," Eastern head coach Scott Edgar said. "But this is a good week for us because we get a week to rest and rejuvenate for the final runThe most important thing is how you're playing after the bye week." After struggling against NEO (17 7, 9 5), Eastern (15 11, 6 8) is off Thursday and is scheduled to play Feb. 15 at Western Oklahoma nike internationalist State and Feb. 18 at home against Connors State. "We've got to get rested and get healthy and just get a better and tougher mindset," Edgar said. "I thought tonight the losing and the fatigue started to wear on us. The game got hard for us as the game went on and it zapped our energy." Eastern entered the game scoring 84.5 points per game and had 221 made 3 pointers on the season good for the 28th most by any team in the nation. RJ Diggs had the hot shooting hand from beyond the 3 pointer arc during the last five games, but struggled against NEO. The sophomore was shooting 15 for 25 from deep during the last two weeks including a 5 for 5 performance Jan. 21 against Murray State before missing all four 3 point attempts on Monday. "We knew we'd see zone and RJ's been lighting it up and he didn't give us anything tonight," Edgar said. "They knew where he was and he had some good looksbut we stood way too much on offense in the second half." The Mountaineers finished the game just 6 for 24 from beyond the nike yoga shoes 3 point arc and 20 for 66 from the field. The Mountaineers seemed to gain some momentum early in the second half. Trey Abney zipped a no look pass to Victor for a bucket in the paint, then Wilson drove in for a layup and then threw down a monstrous one handed slam on the baseline over Ferriera and added the and one free throw to pull Eastern within four. But NEO slowly began to build steam and pull further away. Jaylen Lowe and Kinglsey Obiekwe Sam each hit a 3 pointer during a 14 5 run during the next few minutes to stretch the lead to 61 49 and the Norsemen cruise to the rest of the way to the win. Shawn Nottingham led NEO with 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Ferriera had 17 points and 10 rebounds, and McIntosh added 16 points. Wilson finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds for Eastern, and Cunningham added 16 points. Jerry Hurt finished with 13 point, but left the game in the second half after diving into the home bench to save a ball. He was not seriously injured.
